From the Tragedy of Sohrab and Rostam, Zhende Razm is important because he was the warrior whom Tamine (Sohrab's mother) had sent with Sohrab to identify his father Rostam. But Zhende Razm was killed by Rostam during a night reconnaissance.
And because Sohrab is not familiar with the identity of his father, he fought him in a battle and on their third meeting, Rostam was victorious and killed Sohrab. But while dying, Sohrab ironically told his killer to watch out for his father Rustam’s vengeance. And upon hearing it, Rostam realized what he had done and fell into a sad, death-like trance.
Sohrab showed Rostam the man's own seal, as a proof of their relationship. Then Rostam went into a rage; he cursed his own existence and tried to kill himself. But Sohrab stopped him. Then after Sohrab's death, Rostam burnt his tents and all his goods, and carried Sohrab's body to Seistan, where it was buried.
Of interest, the first teaser trailer for “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” premiered at San Diego Comic-Con during the Warner Bros. panel at Hall H, paving the way for one final showdown in Middle-Earth. Check it out at MTV.com.
